Lumen® SASE with Fortinet will be deployed as a premises or cloud-based solution with SD-WAN and security, plus a remote access with ZTNA solution available for remote users. Customers can order multiple gateways located across six U.S. regions.
No. SD-WAN is a feature included in FortiOS® at no additional cost. Fortinet recommends purchasing security subscription services as necessary and the service includes a FortiManager® for central management.
Lumen does not charge for bandwidth usage. Customers are free to use as much bandwidth as the box will physically support.
FortiGate® SD‑WAN intelligence and self‑healing is built into the box without the need of a traditional orchestrator. There is no additional cost or sizing considerations for an orchestrator. Additionally, SD‑WAN devices are centrally managed and monitored through FortiManager, which is included in the service.
Currently, Lumen® SASE with Fortinet is available as a physical appliance deployed to the customer premises. Available to service locations in the U.S., Canada and EMEA.
Any FortiGate® model can be utilized as an SD‑WAN hub or branch.
There are no restrictions on how you use any of the interfaces. Physical models will traditionally have designated WAN ports, but you may also utilize any of the available LAN or DMZ ports as a WAN interface.

Lumen‑provided Fortinet devices are configured with a boot configuration. Once the device is powered on and connected to the internet at the customer’s location, the device will automatically connect to the Lumen Hosted Fortinet platform and download Lumen‑provided basic SD‑WAN and/or firewall configuration and policies. Customers can modify the configuration in the SASE service partner management platform as they choose, or request help from Lumen.
